Carbonio e Silicio

Questo dipinto ha una storia, mio
padre ed io eravamo seduti in un
ristorante, io osservavo la bottiglia
di vetro di fronte a me e mio padre
con aria assorta iniziò a parlarmi;
disse che tutto ciò che rimane di un
corpo umano dopo la morte sono
principalmente pochi frammenti chimici
di carbonio e silicio, proprio la
stessa composizione chimica di quella
bottiglia che stavo guardando. Questa
opera rappresenta appunto un uomo
morente, nella sua vasca da bagno, il
cui colore della pelle si fonde con il
colore del vetro che lo circonda, due
corpi così diversi ma tanto simili
nella loro essenza.

This painting has a story. My father and I were sitting in a restaurant, and as I was observing the glass bottle in front of me, my father, with a contemplative expression, began to talk to me. He said that all that remains of a human body after death are primarily a few chemical fragments of carbon and silicon, precisely the same chemical composition as the bottle I was looking at. This artwork represents a dying man in his bathtub, whose skin color merges with the color of the surrounding glass, two bodies so different but so similar in their essence.
